Trains on the Metropolitan Railway’s Harrow–Uxbridge line had been running for nearly two years when Eastcote Halt opened on 26 May 1906, one of several stations added along the branch to encourage new residential areas. From 1 March 1910 District trains also served it, via a new link to Rayners Lane, until the Piccadilly line replaced them on 23 October 1933.

Charles Holden rebuilt the station between 1937 and 1939, giving it a large cube-shaped brick-and-glass ticket hall capped with a flat reinforced-concrete roof, and both the buildings and the platforms are Grade II listed. The station is not currently accessible for wheelchairs and buggies. A 2014 campaign backed by paralympian Natasha Baker OBE called for step-free access at Hillingdon stations including Eastcote, and a 2023 petition for a lift here was supported by over 1,000 residents. A 2014 survey found that Eastcote had the second-highest footfall in the Borough of Hillingdon.
